The surplus model that underpins the approach of The Canons Park TSA is founded on recognising that all partners, whatever their challenges, will be able to offer significant support to other schools. To this end, all partners will be asked to engage in supporting school improvement work across the alliance, where their capacity allows them to do so.
At a local level we will broker support for schools in challenging circumstances through pooling NLE/SLE resources from the two alliances of which we are already part with our own combined local and national cohort of SLEs. The genuinely cross-phase nature of our proposed alliance will also help us identify appropriate provision to meet the specific needs of these schools beyond the pool of SLEs.
The alliance will utilise the national footprint of our strategic partners, the SSAT, to help us broker support for schools beyond our locality who do not have a local Teaching School near to them or who cannot work with their local alliance. We will also utilise their Lead Practitioner and Leading Edge networks to provide in-reach support for the alliance where the needs of a school cannot be met by our cohort of SLEs.
